Top issues during term (7)
trash collection delay
No direct cost to you, but the city might have to spend extra on overtime or temp workers to catch up.
police department leadership
Recruiting and training a replacement for a high-ranking captain could hit local taxpayers with extra administrative and onboarding costs.
official resignation
Upper Darby taxpayers might take a hit if the scandal leads to costly audits, legal fees, or lost revenue from the parking department.
crime data reporting
While there's no direct price tag yet, botched data reporting can hurt state grants and eventually tank property values if people feel unsafe.
policing reform
While the exact price tag isn't clear yet, revamping a police department usually costs taxpayer money for new training and administrative overhead.
mayoral election
The upcoming mayoral campaign and potential administration shift won't immediately alter your taxes, but it could change how the city spends its budget down the road.
lawsuit over parking tickets
Upper Darby could be on the hook for legal fees and potential refunds if the lawsuit succeeds, which might impact the local budget.
